I was hoping to pick up some Warlord cards tomorrow, as my card-buying can resume after Lent (which ends on Holy Thursday). However, after paying bills and setting aside money for savings, we've got $300 in the bank.

"$300?" you ask. "Surely you can buy a couple of packs of cards with $300 and still be fine."

Well, yeah, until you look at the other expenditures coming up:

- Want to get Z a copy of Spirited Away, and possibly Kiki's Delivery Service for her birthday
- Z wants to get a gift for a friend's son and ship it to him, which might get a bit costly
- Got to get an oil change in there somewhere
- Some money for the collection plate on Sunday
- And of course, gas money and miscellaneous food money and petty cash

This leaves precious little fundage for my hobbies. I can't even afford to get a pin vice so I can pin together some of the multi-part minis I have to paint. And of course, next paycheck's a no-go - that's the rent/insurance/parking paycheck. Also have to get the car inspected/license renewed in May. And we have to pre-register for A-Kon still.

In the end, all work and no cash makes Bo a sad boy.

But I want to get them for you. I'm just mildly bummed that after expenses and the things I want to do for other people, there's not much left for myself. It's okay, though. Just the way our cookie crumbles.

I'm not sad sad, and I don't need cards to make me happy. It's more of a "Well, maybe in a couple of months" thing. Just waxing nostalgic for the days when we had spare money (and kicking myself for not saving more of it).

I do need to get a pin vise eventually, though. No major hurry on that.
