And for a quick, non-tragedy related note...

Konami has done something that I thought couldn't be done - they designed a version of DDR that I don't enjoy playing. Not only do I not enjoy playing DDR Extreme 8th Mix, but I also actively dislike playing it. Why, you may ask?

Because it's too freakin' hard! The timing is over-sensitive (although that might be on a machine by machine basis), the song difficulties have been relabeled so that what was once Difficult is now Standard (and what was once Standard/Basic is now "Light"), and they added Freeze Steps (although that last part I could probably get used to eventually).

But I don't want to get used to it, because I do not like this version of the game.

To quote Charleton Heston in Planet of the Apes... "You actually did it! Damn you! Damn you all to hell!"

Actually, all of that started with 7th mix.. the new generation just didn't choose to remove it. Recessive genes. :) Oh well, I'm sure theres still an earlier mix somewhere in the area.. we just have to hunt it down. :)
