It looks like the washer just twisted its belt, which should be a relatively easy repair... for an accomplisher appliance repair technician. On the other hand, my mechanically-inept self is done with attempting to even diagnose appliance issues... forever. After all the trouble trying to take the back of the washer off (which I never completely managed to do), I don't ever want to even try that again. It was an exercise in anger, frustration, and failure. Hell, if it wouldn't be so expensive, I would replace the thing out of pure spite.
