Think your check's coming direct deposit? Maybe not.

So, based on my SSN, our economic stimulus payment should be coming by May 9th via direct deposit. At least, that's what the IRS's payment schedule page says. However, after entering in our information on their "Where's My Stimulus Payment?" form, there's no record for us yet. Odd; we should be getting the money by Friday, right?

Wrong. See, we did get our refund via direct deposit, but we also used TurboTax Online and paid for our filing out of our refund. According to TurboTax, this means your this means you get a paper check thanks to the extra temporary bank account that got created on your behalf.

So, goodbye, May 9th. Hello, June 13th. No, I'm not terribly pleased about this, but at least we're not depending on the money. It's earmarked for paying back debt.

Are you sure? I also filed using Turbo Tax, and checking the link you provided, it said mine was scheduled to be deposited, and should have been there as early as the 5th and as late as the 10th. If it's there, I haven't check, since I haven't been near the ATM machine this week, but I will check it later, or I'll call my bank to see. I'm honestly not expecting to see if before tomorrow, but be sure of the info you're entering... I entered 0 exceptions, and it said there was no info. I entered 1, and it came up with the info.

Ah. I paid for my processing on my credit card. That's probably why.

Yep. That's the difference. If you pay up front out of your own funds, then there's no problem. If you do what we did and pay out of your refund, then the IRS never really gets your bank account information (as everything gets funneled through a third party bank first), and they have to send a check.

Oh well. Live and learn.

If mine doesn't show up direct deposit on May 16th, it's going to be July 11th, and I'm in the veeeery last group. Here's hoping it's direct deposit - I think it should be - as I could really use that money for moving expenses.

I don't think it's anything to be upset over, really. It's extra income. Yeah, it could come in handy, but we're not floundering for it.

I'm not really upset about it. A bit annoyed, but not upset. I already mentioned that we're not dependent on it.

That's a good position to be in ^^

Hurray for waiting for paper check, I'm in the same boat, though the reason for mine is a little different.
I never gave them bank info in the first place, you see, I didn't get a return.
I owed
:(

I'm having to wait on a paper check (and mine won't arrive until July). I owed this year and apparently the IRS can't figure out how to use the direct debit numbers to do a direct deposit. <_< I don't think they're different numbers
