Nov. 24th, 2007 10:10 pmFirst off, happy birthday,
tainted_paladin!
I now have 3 more boxes of Tau to assemble and paint. In addition to the Battleforce I bought back in January (which is about halfway through the painting process, finally), I have a Megaforce (which is effectively a Battleforce and a half), an Armored Interdiction Force (3 more tanks/gunships) and a Rapid Insertion Force (9 battlesuits and a stealth team). Thus ends my miniature purchases for the year; I can't really see myself needing anything for the next few months, as I'll be assembling and painting what I have all winter. The only things I need now are supplies - more paints, new brushes (and oh, do I need new brushes), basing materials, etc. I need to start building a few pieces of terrain as well to bring to the table when I play. Plenty of arts and crafts to keep me busy until Spring!
Also, on a whim I picked up Guild Wars on Black Friday (about 15 hours after the initial rush) since Best Buy was selling it for $10. I managed to snag the last copy in the store (or on the shelves, at least), and so far I like it. It's a nice blend of World of Warcraft and Diablo, and the lack of subscription fees is really nice. Even
the_z showed interest in having a copy. Not that she has the time to play, what with Andromeda devouring her free time, but it's sweet that she was interested in playing with me. I might even pick up the expansions (or at least one or two of them) if I like it enough. (Note to self: add that to the Christmas List - Guild Wars: Factions, Guild Wars: Nightfall, and/or Guild Wars: Eye of the North.)
Tomorrow night is the Dane Cook show. I'm so excited. I've never seen a comic live, I've never been to the new arena downtown, and I've never been in an executive suite viewing room. This is going to be something amazingly new and fun for me. Z's excited as well, and I think we're going to have a great time. It'll be nice having a night out together again. :)

on 2007-11-25 06:13 pm (UTC)After everything's painted, it sounds like you've got plenty of Tau (except for maybe Fire Warrirors and Kroot.) Don't be scared to load up on them; they're some of the most efficient troops in the game, point for point.
If I wasn't knee-deep in a ton of 360 games, I'd get in on Guild Wars. I may join you in a few months.
