This week's experiment.... succeeds!

We are officially closed on our house. We've signed the contracts and the title, and it is ours. Our mortgage is $90 less than our current rent, and it includes our property taxes and homeowner's insurance (thank God for escrows). We don't have a payment in October, and we get a check back to reimburse us for the appraisal (plus a bit extra). All this with no money down and a nice fixed rate mortgage, thanks to the gub'mint wanting to help out first-time home owners.

We are very happy. :)
