A client's requested database change went very badly at work after 5pm, and we were unable to get a hold of anyone who could get a backup restored. Had to shut down the application over the weekend until such time as we know it's fixed.
Got home late, and had to install the Virtual Private Network client on my home computer so that I could access the client's network. I was basically on call, so I had to be at home. Couldn't meet up for the Exalted game, which had to be delated.
Tried installing the VPN software, and the install crashed hardcore. Afterwards, my network connection was utterly fucked, and not a single thing I could do short of a clean install of WinXP would fix it. I was up until 2am working on that.
Was so busy working, I forgot to eat, and by the time I remembered, I had no appetite.
This morning, not so bad.
Got a clean install of WinXP done, and I'm working on getting it properly updated. My old software's still on the drive, but since the registry is brand-new, it doesn't exist in the eyes of WinXP, so everything has to be reinstalled. Fortunately, my browser and mail settings were saved, so that's all good. Working on getting WoW updated right now. Next step is finishing up the Windows Update process.
Between installs, I've been playing Guitar Hero to kill the time and keep my mood up. Z also brought me breakfast pizza. That's love right there. ^_^
I'm assuming that since no one's called yet, I'm free to go to my D&D game tonight.
Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day all around.
