nockergeek: (thinking)

Been writing a lot about WoW (filtered out for the uninterested, so if you haven't seen it, that's why), and not a lot about life otherwise. So, what's been going on?

Well, we've got a wireless network in the house now, mostly so that [livejournal.com profile] tesstrosa can make use of the laptop wherever she happens to be. She's absolutely loving it; she's had the laptop set up in the living room or kitchen for the last two days, and she can MUX and websurf without the dogs trying to fight over who gets to sit in the office. Only downside is that we're rarely in the office together unless she's working on art. I suppose I'll just have to get a high-end laptop that can handle WoW (right, when they're free, maybe). ^^

My energy levels at work have been in flux. My worklist has been pretty light - a bug fix here, a small new feature there, and the very occasional maintenance bit. It's reassuring that we don't get many calls for maintenance lately; means that the things I've been coding are solid and serving their purposes. Still, it'd be nice to have a little more to do. We've got two more medium/large projects coming down the pipe soon, though, so I may get busy again before too long. Anyway, with little work comes boredom. I also don't feel like I've been sleeping terribly well, probably due to the change in weather.  Slept over 8 hours this morning, and I still feel sore/tired.

Haven't touched Warlord since the last set came out. Been so busy that I haven't had much time to focus on it, and between the new tourney reporting system (no thank you, I don't want to install Microsoft's DB server on my computer) and the general slowdown in interest (at least out here; I think it's still big in Kansas), my enthusiasm has dropped a little. The last set wasn't very interesting or inspiring, and with AEG cutting costs, it just doesn't bode well. I know [livejournal.com profile] evildennis is going to drop the game after the next set (the last expansion before the next big reset), and if I can't manage to drum up some interest after New Year's, I may join him. I'm also disappointed that the Champions set that I was fawning over is already sold out, and apparently there's a decent  number of people who didn't get a chance to pick it up. 3 weeks, and they already sold out of a set that's going to have a major effect on the next environment. Not very reassuring.

I'm pondering if my depression is trying to catch up with me again. I'm feeling very quiet and pensive suddenly. Might just be the lack of energy, but it's one of those things where I have to stay vigilant and look for signs, or it'll catch me by surprise like it did last week, and I don't want that again. Been second-guessing myself and having basic doubtfulness/anxiety a bit lately, although that's not all that unusual for me. Like [livejournal.com profile] greenwings, been feeling a bit introverted lately -- and yet desperate for company/friendship. A lovely little dichotomy, neh?

I don't mean for this to end up sounding negative. More or less, I've been content. Home life is good. Work's boring, but peaceful. It's my recreation that's been stressing me out the most, and I'm working on that. I think that I just need to get back into some semblance of schedule or routine to kind of reset things.

Oh, and this is awesome. Classic hits of the 80s and 90s, redone NES-style. They sound really good, even Europe's The Final Countdown (and making that good is a tough trick).

I think this funk is contagious c_c Man, everyone seems down!

I even caught myself thinking today 'When is this guy who's commissioning me going to wake up to the fact that I'm not as good as he thinks I am?' I don't know WHERE that came from. :/

Also, my Inu Yasha CD is smasherated. I mailed it back to Netflix for a replacement.

I've worked on some character sketches this morning, but I think I'm going to take it easy, otherwise. I have work this evening and doggies to hang out with. Maybe I'll just do a bit of DDR and chill for the rest of the day until work.

Smasherated? Did we smasherate it, or was it that way in the envelope?

It was that way in the envelope.

Ah, okay. That makes me feel better.

Otherwise, I had this feeling that there were corgis at fault.

The way it was split, the corgis couldn't possibly have done it. It looks like it'd been bent in transit or impacted somehow.

Besides, the envelope had no corgimarks.

I don't know... they're pretty crafty, those wee corgis.

And like the ninjas in Champloo, they'll kill us one day!
