Arrrr! Scuttle that collection! Arrrr...

Well, my L5R collection continues to get smaller as I put together more sets for auction. A set of Imperial cards (not Imperial Edition, but cards with "Imperial" in the title), a set of Fu Leng cards, a lot made up of ninja-related cards, a few more playsets of power rares, and a couple of promos. I doubt I'll do as well as I did last week, but I think I should make at least a little money. Oh, and someone's willing to pay me $50 plus shipping costs for about 2400 to 3200 of my 11,000 cards. I think that's fair, since it's mostly commons and uncommons that I won't be able to sell anyway.

It's odd... the more I sell the cards off, the less I miss them. When I did my first batch of auctions, I was very careful to only sell cards that weren't absolutely necessary, so that I'd still have a decent assortment of cards to work with. Now, though, I'm stripping down the whole thing. Oh, out of my leftovers, I might be able to make a passable casual Open deck or two, but that's it. If things keep going well on the sale front, I might just sell off whatever is left and be done with it.

Surprisingly, this does not bother me. I think L5R (the card game, anyway) and I are through. It's not so much growing past the game as much as it is growing in a different direction. I'm getting back to my roots, playing casual combat-oriented games, like Warlord. Also got to play a bit of DBZ with Dan last night. Actually had a lot of fun with Krillin, watching my bald little bruiser beat down Dan's Vegeta deck. Good thing I still had 3 old DBZ decks around; with some extra cards from Dan, I was able to rebuild my Kirllin deck into something quite decent. Had a blast doing it, too.

Feels good to be getting back to my roots, gaming-wise. The casual weekly get-together where you try out your new deck idea(s), talk a little trash, and have a good time all around.

Now, if only this download from work will finish...big site, it is.

Them's were the days.

I can't seem to get into CCGs any more though. I recently, and for the first time, played a game of What Was Once Jyhad. I was bored dumb.

Games have to have more meaning for me, I guess, unless they're fast-paced shooters. So much of my time these days is revolved around a couple larps that other games seem .. dry.

Oh, and hi. :)

Yes, Jyhad/V:TES can be a long, drawn-out, painful game. In fact, it usually is. And it sucks for less than three players. :)

And it's good to see you again, man. :)
