nockergeek: (working)

A week later than originally hoped, we ("we" being [livejournal.com profile] hidaman,[livejournal.com profile] judge, [livejournal.com profile] yukimi, [livejournal.com profile] katzchen, and myself) finally did our Zul'Farrak run over on Blackhand. Everything went pretty smoothly, although there were a few snags beforehand; apparently, my instance of WoW didn't like druids shapechanging, so it rendered them invisible. Quick exit and restart, though, and all was well. Once [livejournal.com profile] judge was visible again, there was some drunken bear boxing (one of my favorite pasttimes in WoW), and all was well. Almost wiped out while fighting Gahz'rilla, mostly because a patrol respawned right behind us mid-fight, but we still pulled it out for the win. All told, I ended the night with around 95,000 more experience, about 20 more gold, a new cloak, and a nice shiny new spear -- a good haul overall.

Beyond that, life is pretty standardly happy. I've discovered that I'm oddly fascinated by the show It Takes a Thief on the Discovery Channel. It's really eye-opening as far as realizing what burglars will take. They don't carefully hunt through items, looking for that one rare and valuable treasure. Instead, they ransack rooms, tossing things left and right, grabbing anything that looks like they can fence it on the streets. Shoes, empty (but stylish and expensive) purses, power tools, computer components, DVDs, dogs (yes, the thief's run off with someone's dog before)... nothing is safe. It's also neat to see the new security devices that the build team will put into the house, although in most cases the owners then neglect to use them. Every now and again, though, a family really takes the lessons to heart, and when the break-in expert returns unannounced a few weeks later, it's really reassuring when he finds that he can't get in.

A second ZF run wouldn't hurt my feelings at all. I think an all-DPS run would be nice, except that besides [livejournal.com profile] hidaman and myself, there are no healers in the guild. Zip. Zero. Nada. We'd all be Dead Dead Peasants.

If you know any other competent priests or druids, though, I'd be all over it for at least one more run. After that, though, I need to start eyeing Maraudon.

That would be really nice... lets see, you, me, Dan, Zack... there's two rogues and two paladins. Dan and Zack are both in mid-to-late-fifties, you and I are both mid-to-late-forties, we shouldn't have too much trouble if we don't do that damned stairway battle. But really, besides the four of us, do we really have anyone else in the guild high enough level to do it?

I would say we could bring Jon, but he's a level 58/59/60/Idunnowhatlevelthesedaysbutcloseto60 Hunter, so that wouldn't help the healing situation any. Don't really know any competent healery types besides Seth and Kim. *shrugs*

And yes, Maraudon... I only have one quest open for that and its green, so I really need to look and see what quests there are for that and what I need to do to get them. Then we shall slaughter there, too!

LOOTS!
