So, the weekend is over...
Sep. 20th, 2004 03:20 pm...and what do I have to say about it?
- AnimeIowa was nice. A small con, but one with definite possibilities for next year. Z is looking to do business there next year, and hopefully we'll be able to catch a bit more of the con. The open gaming room was sadly quiet, so perhaps I can bring some gaming love there in 2005. Good cosplay was in great abundance, and I was able to get some good pictures (which I'll post soon). The Jiraiya costume got a lot of compliments as well, which is a happy, happy thing, even if it was very warm to wear. Z and I also picked up a few good ideas in case anyone ever decides to get a KC anime convention together; there were some things that the AI crew did that we really appreciated.
- I'm now officially a Bounty Hunter for AEG! I have a BH number, I've got my first demo scheduled for early next month, and I have a tournament that I'll be running at Andy's store this week. It's taken me three tries to get it all done, but it's finally done and I am looking forward to doing the work.
- I finally got to see The Breakfast Club in its entirety. That movie should be required watching in high schools... not that any of the kids would be likely to pay attention. I guess it's one of those 20/20 hindsight films that you really understand a few years after the fact.
- Also got to see Daredevil; not a bad superhero film. Very dark, and not just visually; Matt Murdock makes Bruce Wayne look like a Boy Scout. Ben Affleck as an action star, still not enitrely sure about, but he didn't look bad in the role. Movie moved a bit fast, especially near the end, so the finale seemed a bit rushed, but otherwise it wasn't bad. It wasn't Spiderman/Spiderman 2 good, but it wasn't bad.
