I'm looking at the weather map, and I get to the current temperatures. The map looks like burn tissue, red and purple on the outside, fading to pink in the middle. Probably feels like an oven outside -- hot, heavy, oppressive. Completely unpleasant. Meanwhile, I've been huddled in a cocoon of air conditioning, oblivious to the 93 degrees right outside my window. Of course, come 5:00, I'll have to leave that little bubble of coolness and wander into the oven. I'll have to drive with the windows down, as I doubt the car's A/C will stand up to 93 degrees of heat. Needs a recharge, I'm sure. The hot air will melt me and the belt buckle will burn me. The steering wheel will put blisters on my hand, despite the sun shield I put up earlier to keep it cool.

108? *whimpers* Of course, you're in Arizona, which means you get dry heat. Dry heat means that persperation actually works at keeping you cool. Here in KC, we have humidity kicking the heat index to about 105. So, we feel like it's 105, and it's so humid that persperation doesn't evaporate, leaving us with the feeling that we're boiling in our skin.
