(no subject)

Mortgage payment is due in a week, and while I sent off my first invoice for freelance work, I can't count on that money any sooner than 30 days. Did get another bite from the headhunters, though, so maybe that'll pan out. I was hoping that I'd have something by now, but like any job search, ya pays yer money and ya takes yer chances. At this point, everything is in God's hands.

On the upside, though, our collective families kicked us enough spare food to save us from a grocery trip in the immediate future. Our pantries are loaded, we've got a gross of diapers for Andromeda, and we have our family and each other. I have some work I can do, and leads I can follow, and we're not out of this fight yet by a long shot. I've got Halo 2 to play with (and as I figured, I suck pretty badly at multiplayer right now), along with some other games, and my friends have helped keep me entertained and enjoying life.

So the icon, maybe it's a little more maudlin than life would indicate. Sure, I'm at a shitty spot right now, but as shitty spots go, it's not really that bad.
