How I Spent My Late-Summer Sinus-Induced Vacation

Went out for dinner with my baby after working from home - damn allergies are trying to keep me down, I swear. Spicy braised chicken, though, clears the sinuses quite nicely. I'll still probably need.a dose of meds before bed, but for right now I'm naturally high. Best part of the meal (besides the the very cute and friendly hostess at the Chinese restaraunt) was the time spent with Z. Can't get enough of her, which is good, because I've got her for life -- might as well enjoy it!

Afterwards, we did some mall strolling and window shopping for Z. Picked up the first volume of the FLCL manga ("Takkun's dead!!"), so that should be a fun read. Awesome to see so much manga coming out state-side, and at decent prices too. I'll have to get the .hack manga as well. Also had some really good chocolate-dipped s'mores from Topsy's, made Z smell awesome at the Bath and Body Works, admired a handsome Shiba Inu at Petland, and bought Ein a pig's ear for chewing. There was also much discussion of Half-Life 2, and how it's coming out at the most inopportune time - right as we move. Oh well; maybe it'll be a fun diversion for the post-move period. It will be mine; oh yes, it will be mine... along with the other PC games I'm craving...

But anywho, it's been a good day, despite having sinus trouble. In the end, I've got a lot to celebrate and very little to complain about. Life is good.

Trying to find a way to get evildennis's old computer (or at least its mobo, CPU, heatsink/fan, memory, and vid card) into a new case for hidaman to use. Dan's going to need a new case, PSU, and case fans. Full tower case preferable, as is a 350+W PSU, and if we can make it glow, all the better. Oh, and the budget's $100, although we can go over that for shipping if need be.

I like a challenge. ^_^ Bringing the might of the PVP Forums to bear on it now...
