Starting to get tired, but not quite sleepy yet. Getting there, though.

I'm now the proud owner of 43 fansubbed episodes of Naruto on CD, so I've got plenty to watch over the next few weeks. Looks like I'll be watching it on my CD-RW drive and not the DVD-ROM, though. The DVD-ROM's not dead, but it's being very picky with CDs. Some it reads and recognizes just fine, like my Warcraft III discs. Others, like the Naruto discs and my Diablo II expansion CD, it has troubles with. It can get a file list, but can't seem to open anything from the disc. Not sure why. May open the case up before bedtime and check the power connections... or just take it out for the interim. Not like I'm using it much anyway. Tempted to buy a new DVD-ROM and new CD-RW when I have the money, perhaps one at a time. They are only $30 to $40 each on Newegg, so it's something to save up for post-move.

Besides that, not much going on tomorrow. Laundry, deckbuilding, corgi-watching. It'll be a nice, relaxing night, I think. Hope Z's having a good time (which I'm sure she is - haven't heard anything from her to indicate otherwise). Anywho, almost bedtime for Bo. Might give the computer a quick onceover - I seem to have lost the extra cooling I had - but then it's bedtime for Bonzo.

A bit more tired than normal today, thanks to me not getting to sleep until 2:00 AM. Way to go, me! Was worth it, though. Looks like my computer is back down to 40 degrees C, so the redressing and removal of the DVD seems ot have cooled things down a bit. It's a shame to be without a DVD-ROM right now (although I'm not really; Z's machine has one), but I'll cope. As I said, Newegg's got them for $30 to $40, with new CD-RW drives having comparable prices. I see another upgrade in my future, although not the near future. Rounded cables first, baby. Rounded cables first.

Z's system needs upgrading too; I'm thinking about doubling her memory and putting in a PCI Radeon 7500 - thanks to Gateway, I can't put in an AGP card. Sad thing is, the PCI cards are $20 to $30 more expensive than the better AGP cards. Oh well. If I doubled her memory and put in a PCI card, it'd still only be a $170 upgrade or so, which is not a bad price. See if Dad's got a 3GB HD for use as a Photoshop scratch drive, and she'd be happy.

Speaking of Z, got a call from her this morning. She spent yesterday eating lobster in Maine and cavorting in the ocean. I'm glad she's having a great time. I should really try lobster sometime, perhaps when it's free. ^_^ She and her crew are driving to Baltimore tonight for Otakon tomorrow. Should be a fun weekend. She said she may give me an update call on Sunday or so, so I'll let everyone know what I hear.

First of all, quizness!

What kind of samurai defines me as a person? )

I think Ein's really been feeling the loneliness. Tonight, when we weren't playing/wrestling, he spent the entire evening sitting on my lap watching TV. If I went to the computer to check my email, I got nudged away from the desk and complained at. Little guy knows that he can stick his nose between my knee and the desk and spin my chair around. And each time, I went back to the living room, and into my lap he went. Of course, we're talking a 40-lb lap dog, but it makes him happy, so who am I to complain?

Deckbuilding tonight, and packing up a couple of new Warlord trades. Going to try to sleep by midnight tonight, and hope I can be up in time to do some DDR in the morning. Been out of my routine thanks to being sick last week and busy this week. Got to get back into it. Got to get in shape, or at least a shape that's a bit less rounded.
