Another day of working from home, thanks to the office being at SBC's mercy as far as getting our DSL back up. My boss trudged through the circles of hell that make up SBC tech support, starting with the least competent and finally working his way to someone who actually knew what he was talking about and could have something done about it. Of course, there's the matter of waiting for the repairmen. See, the problem was traced from our office, to Downtown KC, to somewhere out in California, and that ended up being a dead end and we're back to our office again, so we're waiting for a service call to replace the modem and/or check our lines. Waiting for phone company repairmen is like waiting for the cable guy - they ask you to be available between 9:00 AM and the middle of June.

And yet, I'm in a good mood. Almost have one project wrapped up, finishing up two more, and then I can start on fresh, new things - or at least new rehashes that I haven't rehashed before. :)

Also, got to see .hack (pronounced dot-hack for those not in the know) in game form, and took it for a brief spin. I'm not a MMORPG player, but it played decently enough, and did have that fake-online-play smell, so I'm borrowing it from Dennis. I'll give it a try tomorrow night and return with a fuller impression. In the meantime, I may watch some of the .hack anime tomorrow if I'm working from home again. Hell, I may take some to work and watch it there regardless.

Back in the office with a high-speed connection, and I've actually had a productive day. Two major site updates, some minor technical issues, and a big block of programming revisions kept me happily productive without being frustrated. Of course, now that we're caught up, next week I'll get a bunch of new work, I'm sure -- but hey, it helps keep my mind sharp and the day going quickly.

Ugh. A flickering flourescent light is making me dizzy... time to turn off the lights..
