Financially, we're skirting the bottom -- I've got to delay one bill by a week so that our bank account doesn't end up totally empty -- but we'll rebound. Z gets paid on Friday, my eBay auctions ended yesterday (and payment's already coming in), and then we start life withouth car payments. By the grace of God, we'll make it, but we'll be okay.

Just don't be surprised if we can't go out to dinner with anyone. :)

Well, the last bill's been dealt with... in a manner that won't render our bank account empty. Citigroup called tonight about our Mastercard, and I said that I couldn't pay the full amount due right now, but that I could pay about $50 of it. They offered to let me split the payment, paying $50 now and the rest at the end of the month, and they're refunding the late fees.

So the last bill's been taken care of... for the first time in a few months, we've paid the amount required on every bill we have (and some back payment, too) -- even on the small bills that sometimes get overlooked!

Thanks, God, for helping us out.

Over the last 5 years, I've been making car payments every month, always in full, never late. That should count for something on my credit, right?

Then it hits me...

My dad co-signed on the car, and the bills are in his name.

So... my dad's credit is a-o-kay on the car front, and I get none of the credit for that credit, thus weakening my own credit.

Oh well. Par for the course.
