What soda defines me as a person?

The What Soda Are You Quiz By Vishal

Y'know, if I actually liked Mountain Dew, that might mean something. ;)

Odd dream this morning.

I typically have unusual dreams when I'm sick, but I actually had one this morning that was coherent, if odd...

I was at an old private school in England. I was perhaps 13 or 14 years old, because I was still a student, but not an upperclassman yet. I remember the uniform being blue and slightly itchy. We were sitting down for a big, very elaborate feast, when things started... disappearing. First, it was just small food items... then entire plates... then pieces of furniture. Always one thing at a time. People would turn around, then turn back, and something new would be gone, and they'd be scrambling around, trying to find it.

Then people started vanishing. People would have panicked, but by the time they got to the panicking point, there weren't enough people left to panic. Teachers and students alike were vanishing. Before long, there was only a handful of us in a big, mostly-empty building.

Then I woke up, looked over at the bed... and Z had vanished! I almost panicked myself...

...then I saw the light from the office, and figured she was in there, and all was right with the world again.

(no subject)

It's sometimes strange how easily we get accustomed to change, despite any vehement protests we make beforehand.

Take L5R, for example. I remember when Pearl Edition was announced, with the new, simplified and updated card faces. Oh, the bitching! Oh, the complaints! "This makes the game too Magic-like!" "My clan's colors look so bad now!" "I hate the new card faces!"

A couple of years later, I think the old card faces are so much harder to read than the new ones. I much prefer the post-Pearl look.

When the card backs were changing, another cry went up. "The new backs look so wrong! They're not the old ones!" Even I contributed to this complaining; I remember seeing Spirit Wars cards and thinking how horribly wrong they looked.

And now? I actually prefer them. I try to get my cards in Gold version whenever possible.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la meme chose.
