Unlike the Salvation Army (see
tesstrosa's journal for more info), Rhodes Furniture was on time and on the ball. They called us last night just to verify that delivery would be between 8 am and noon. This morning, they showed up at 8:45, got the couch in through the patio door, and got the chaise into the office, replacing the futon we once had there. They were done before 9, and we had our new, slightly decadent furniture. I mean, let's face it -- any furniture with a French name is pretentious and decadent. Chaise. Armoire. Bidet.
After that, got laundry done, deposited my paycheck, took Maggie out for lunch before she went to work, and then... we lounged. Relaxed. Did NOTHING.
And it feels SO good.
Sure, Dennis came over to visit, and my parents came by to pick up the steam cleaner (which did an awesome job on our now spot-free carpets), but that's just been a temporary bit of activity in our otherwise restful day. Now that I am rested, and chaos and change have settled into a new order, I think it's time to be creative. Do I work on L5R decks? Get that D&D campaign started? Contemplate mini-painting tomorrow? I'll figure something out.
