I hate spam, really I do. What gets me most is that spammers -- especially porn spammers -- feel this need to get creative, to get past as many filters as possible and to inflict themselves on as many mailing lists as possible.
Using randomly generated YahooMail accounts. We've got a spammer on the Phoenix list who keeps shifting email addresses. Of course, the list is on YahooGroups, so getting a random YahooMail account into random YahooGroups is only too easy...
Breaking up words in the subject line, or writting them in l33tsp3@k. I received one email today advertising "in-ce-st", and another advertising "anal s3x".
And the sad thing is, short of constantly mutating my spam filters and monitoring my email box like a vulture, there's nothing I can do to get rid of it, even at work. It becomes a chore to keep it all away, taking away from time better spent working or keeping up to date with the world.
Why do these people even bother sending anyone these things? Are there that many people who really want herbal Viagra, penis enlargement, breast enliargement, and h0t anal s3xX0Rs that they make ANY money off of click-throughs? Or do they just get paid by the bucketload of email addresses they flood?
