Random happiness.
Feb. 24th, 2002 07:19 pmWell, we're not doing too badly, despite being shy on funds. Z just got paid for her commision for Jed, so between that and another picture she sold, that puts just over $80 more into our coffers. Of course, around $65 of that has to go to pay for Ein's yearly checkup and rabies shots and such, but that's money well spent. There's also $45 more on the way from another set of art, so between that and me getting paid this coming Friday, we're not hurting too badly.
I'm getting over missing the PS2. I'm rediscovering some of the games for the PC that I've had sitting around. Freespace 2 rocks my world right now, and Starcraft is hot on its heels. When I tire of those, I've got Fallout 1 and 2, Warlords 3, System Shock 2, Homeworld, Star Wars: X-Wing, and MechCommander to hit. If I need some non-sensical twitch gaming, I've also got Sinistar: Unleashed and Unreal Tournament, and even Abuse (a little-known run-and-gun game). I'm not hurting for entertainment.
Only 3 more episodes of Hanaukyo Maid Tai to download, and my collection will be complete!
I've got an idea for a D&D campaign setting in my head. I've even got a world map for it (out of the newest issue of Dungeon); I just need to break that down into political boundaries. I think I'm going to get that down onto the laptop, or just into a notebook, before I lose it. I need something to jumpstart the inner dungeon master; perhaps this idea will do it.
Speaking of D&D, my new character in Garrett's game actually survived to see 3rd level! Whee! Of course, now he's just one experience point away from 4th level, so I must find a way to earn that point between now and March 9th.
We had an awesome dinner tonight. I grilled some teriyaki-basted chicken, and had it along with teriyaki rice and green beans. I was afraid that I screwed up the chicken by putting it on the wrong grid on the grill, but it came out perfectly. Z's making pineapple upside-down cake for desert. Delish!
The only thing that could make today better would be awesome sex with Z tonight... and she has been flirting with me all day, so hey, it might just be a perfect night!
