Miscellanious items...
Jan. 30th, 2002 12:02 amJust some random items going through my mind today, as it was relatively slow...
Despite be utterly treacherous outside, it's very beautiful. Everything's covered in a light glaze of ice, making it shine in the street lights... tree branches seen through lights look like spiderwebs, reflecting the light in jagged radial patterns. If it weren't horribly slick out, I'd go out more often just to stare at them.
The male characters in PVP have all gone out to a strip club. Reminds me of the one time I've been to a strip club - my bachelor party. My boss and some friends from work took me out to the Million Dollar Fantasy Ranch the day before Z and I got married. I won't lie - I had a great time, and wished it could have lasted a bit longer. Sure, there were downsides - it was expensive (well, not for me - everything I wanted was paid for), my boxers got ripped off over my head, and I came home smelling of cigarette smoke - but every now and again I want to go out there with a couple of friends for a guy's night out. It's a passing fancy, as we have nowhere near the money available to blow on something utterly frivolous and naughty like that, but it's a pleasant thought none-the-less.
Tomorrow I should find out whether or not my character in Garrett's D&D game will most likely get resurrected, and whether or not I should draw up a new character. Part of me really wants to keep my old character - I've spent a few months on his background, and I just finished painting his miniature - but honestly, I don't care. I can paint a new miniature (something I love anyway). It's all a game anyway, and despite dying, I had fun.
Speaking of mini-painting, I need some new supplies. My brushes are just not holding together as well as I'd like. I need some good new fine-tipped brushes (3/0, 5/0, 10/0, and 20/0), along with some smaller bases, and possibly a new mini or two. I think I may put together a set of minis for Dad for Father's Day, and possibly some for Mom for Mother's Day, too. It's something tangible I can give that I actually put time and energy and concentration into. I even know what set I want to get and paint up for my dad.
While we're talking about games and such, I went ahead and beat FFX tonight. Awesome ending, although the final fights had absolutely no difficulty in them - once your characters reach a certain powerlevel, they're nigh unstoppable. Kimahri almost finished off the last few fights single-handed. I still have yet to get Tidus and Wakka everything they need, so I'm looking forward to taking them through as well.
I'm drifting off as I write this... time to head to bed!
