I'm on a big Exalted kick for some reason. Not sure why, but I suddenly find myself very interested in the game. Grabbed a (completely legal) free PDF of the main rulebook and I've been reading through that. I'm also told that the Dragon-Blooded book is a must-read as well. Anybody else have any input?

I'm pretty much in the exact same position. Read through the core rules and that's about it, but really interested. And nobody seems to play anything tabletop around where I live. Or at least don't advertise.

Exalted will 0wnz j00.

DB, Sidereals, and Abyssals are all fantastic books. The Lunars, my favorite Exalts, got the shaft -- their book is merely good rather than great. The Player's Guide goes a long way to filling in the gap between heroic mortals and Exalts, and Games of Divinity has a lot of cosmology in it (much of this is also in Sidereals, since part of their job is spending time in Yu-Shan -- Heaven). The Book of Three Circles has rules for warstriders -- mecha.

There's great stuff in every book that's been put out so far. I only own the hardbacks, but Mel has most, if not all, of what I don't own. There's more hardbacks -- megasplats -- on the horizon, too; The Fair Folk is coming out in November or December, and, IIRC, the Alchemical Exalted (a rather odd character type -- fantasy androids, basically, that were described in a book of adventures) are getting a megasplat sometime next year, I've heard. There's also Infernal Exalted, but there's very little known about them (IIRC, they're described briefly in GoD, just some chewy bits with nothing crunchy), and I don't know what plans there are for them.

Oh, if only these books were free, or relatively inexpensive. Otherwise, looks like I'm looking at ~$120 or so to get the basics (Core book [because I want a print copy], DB, Player's Guide, Three Circles [for more sorcery rules])... oy.

Exalted is oh-so-much fun. When I gamed with the evilgroup Zack ran a fantabulous campaign that I rather miss. I have a bunch of the books if you want to borrow any at some point. I think the only mainmain books I'm missing are the abyssal book and the newly-released-but-mainly-ass players guide. I have the main exalted, the lunar, the dragon-blooded and the sidereal books. And a few of the supplementary ones.

SUCH a good system.
