So, today I make my doctor's appointment. Most of the general fear/trepidation is gone, but it's been replaced with a general over-sensitivity regarding my groinal region -- I'm mentally cataloging and analyzing any sensations down there that even slightly deviate from the baseline. So far, nothing really noticeable. Doesn't help that I pulled a muscle in the back of my right thigh, so I've got to differentiate between that and the main issue.

I just hope I can get in quickly, since I have to get in before our insurance carrier changes. If not, well, I may end up waiting until after A-Kon anyway.

Edit: Yay! 9:45 AM on Friday! Only 4 days away.
