I would be failing in my duty as a human being if I did not do this, so here goes...

Please, save yourself the money and do not see Hellboy. It is very, very bad, and I say this as a Hellboy fan who's been looking forward to this for months. Hell, tesstrosa had low expectations for the film and she was still let down.

So yeah, save your cash. Buy a few packs of cards or go out for dinner instead.

I think you could imagine a better and deeper movie.

In fact, go to your local comic shop, pick up a Hellboy comic, hold the spine tight in one hand, grip the other side firmly between your forefinger and thumb, and make a flip book out of the comic. It'll produce a better movie with more story depth than the theatrical release.

And if you're a good shopper, you'll spend less money and have some nice art from the deal.

I have most of the Hellboy comics myself. The Hellboy I saw on the screen just wasn't the Hellboy I've seen in the comic. The movie Hellboy was a whiny, angsty bitch.

That, and the action/pacing just seemed flat. It never got exciting.

As for me I enjoyed it. I never got into the comics because I never liked Mike Mignolia's art.

I will say though it was definately not the movie I was expecting and it could have been MUCH better. Still I did enjoy it.

But don't worry I didn't spend money on it.
