Can't sleep, clowns will eat me...
Nov. 9th, 2003 01:03 amOkay, they won't eat me, but I still can't sleep. Another bout of insomnia that I can't seem to shake. Going to try to use up more brain power and see what effect that has.
In the meantime, what's been up? Didn't make it to Mark and Dan's tonight, so I will go out there tomorrow to see if Dan got his computer up and running. If not, I'll see what nocker magic I have left; play with some cables and jumpers, and maybe use a couple of well-phrased curses. You'd be surprised how often that actually works.
Probably best that I didn't help Dan anyway; my right hand is utterly fucked up right now from working on my new desk. I got it built today, but the strain on my hands from the torque I had to apply to the screws has been crippling. I can barely close my right hand into a fist, and doing so reminds me quite strongly that my hand is definitely still there. The muscles around the nerves must be horribly inflamed and damaged. Hoping some ibuprofen and bedrest (if I can fall asleep) will take care of it.
Oh, and the half-paycheck I was fretting about the other day? Well, after some recalculations, it turns out that rent isn't due for another 2 paychecks... the half-paycheck actually falls on the week of one of my few "extra" paychecks (paychecks that fall outside the normal bill schedule) this year. So... our money problems are not as bad as I thought they might be. In fact, we're doing okay at this point. Still haven't heard back from the apartment complex, so I'll call them on Monday and find out what's up.
In the meantime, I need to wear my brain out!
