Whew. Busy day. Got a lot done, though...

- Got all our bills switched over to the new address; got cable modem service set up for our new house, so we should only have a day or so without high-speed access. No worse than a vacation, really.
- Got the last touches on painting the guest room done, so it's ready to be de-masked and moved into.
- Mowed the yard. Doesn't sound like much, but I've never mowed a yard before, so it was a first for me. Actually, got the yard 2/3rds of the way mowed. Mower died just as it was getting dark, and I couldn't get it restarted. I'll have Dad look at it tomorrow morning and see what happened.

Z also got a lot of landscaping done - trimmed up the bushes, took some stray limbs off of the tree in back, and pulled up some overgrown sunflowers. The backyard looks much, much cleaner now.

Also had a blast from the past; went out to Arby's to get dinner, and ran into an old high school friend (who was the manager). Haven't thought about him in years, liiterally, but it was good to see him again. Had to dig deep into the recesses of my brain to remember exactly who he was, but I knew that I knew him as soon as I saw him and heard his voice. He's working on getting a music career together, gave me a copy of his demo CD, and wants to talk about doing a webpage. Should be interesting, to say the least.

I'm still amazed that he recognized me (I've aged a bit in the face, and I have facial hair now), and that he remembered my full name. Weird to think that I had enough impact on him that my name would stick around in his memory for almost 10 years. Or maybe he's just good with names. ^_^

It's really easy to get to; take 291 south to 150, and turn left onto 150. Take 150 through Greenwood until you get to Ranson Rd, barely past the elementary school. Turn right onto Ranson, and we're the very first house you see, right at the intersection of Ranson and Walnut.

And we should be completely moved in by the 30th, and I'm trying to get the 1st off, so a party is definitely in order.

Who was he?

Does the name "David Kehoe" mean anything to you? Used to hang out with Tony Schmidt and Josh Tripod, and was in speech/theatre with us?

Oooh yes. I remember several iterations of David, very well. Wow.

heh, after visiting ppl at my 10 year reunion, it's really interesting...my main comment is people looked...bigger...many, a lot bigger...

Looking at the Calandar of doom...if you all are moved in by Oct 1st...I could swing by after handbells that night...or on the 2nd I have free, or the 3rd I have free, or the 4th daytime I have free...(nighttime is dnd game...unless you wanted that to be part of the housewarming..."Hey guy's Rob's got a new house game at his place!") 5th is open...then after that it's back to the regular schedual...bah, I still need to hit Ren Fest someday...*sigh*
