Sep. 18th, 2003 10:43 amMuch better today. Had a salad last night (one of the few actual food items that McD's still sells), some lemonade, and some yogurt, and I feel fresh and revitalized. Got some painting done - the guest room is almost finished, just needs an extra layer in some spots - and got grocery shopping done. Getting bills switched to the new address today and tomorrow, and paying a few as well. Things are actually moving; it'll still be close, but we'll get it done. Hardest part will be moving furniture, since we've got no moving van yet, and I don't know if we'll have the money. Maybe we can call in some favors at church.
Speaking of money, just to let everyone know - October will be very tight for us. First month with the new rent, which is $150 higher than our current rent, plus a couple of new utilities that we don't pay at the apartment, plus fees for getting old utilities switched over. Z's still jobless at this point (but too busy packing and working on the house to job-hunt), and I doubt our new roomie will have rent money for that first month, so we're going to be s-q-u-e-a-k-ing in October. I might even have to resort to the ancient art of creative accountancy (i.e. selective skipping of bills) again, but only for a month. If Z and the roomie can get employed in October, we'll be okay for November and all points onward. We'll be okay, but don't be surprised if we skip on going out to dinner. ^_^
