nockergeek: (grrr)

I ordered my computer parts yesterday morning. I requested Fed-Ex 2-day shipping and marked the order to be a "rush" order, in the hopes that New Egg would process, package, and ship the order on the same day I ordered it. I'd like to receive the parts by Friday, so I can put the computer together that night. The order was quickly charged, and my shipping address quickly verified.

And that is where my order's been for the last 24 hours or so. It hasn't been shipped. It hasn't been packaged. They haven't even retrieved all the parts I ordered from the warehouse, apparently. This is obviously some new meaning of the word "rush" that I wasn't aware of. I did not know that "rush" means "get the order started, then sit on it for a day or two".

New Egg's got about 24 hours more to ship my order out before they lose me as a customer.

That's really odd. They're usually stellar. They shipped my stuff faster than I thought they would. How bizarre.

That's what everyone's been telling me -- that NewEgg is normally spectacular -- and yet, their order tracking page has had me sitting at "retrieving parts from warehouse" for almost 1 1/2 days now. Means one of two things:

1) They have the slowest warehouse staff ever, or
2) Their order tracking page is so inaccurate, it's useless

Either way, it's not a good sign

Or one of the parts you ordered is actually backordered. Which is usually a good reason for delays on orders...

Actually, turns out that #2 (useless order tracking system) is to blame; the system still lists my order as being put together at the warehouse, but they've also listed 3, count 'em, 3 FedEx tracking numbers. Two of the FedEx records show packages picked up at City of Industry, CA, home of Newegg. Each left CoI at different times for LA, then both left California at 7:29 AM today, and one of them arrived in Indianapolis today -- what happened to the second, I don't know.

The third package boggles me. It left Edison, NJ, today and arrived in a sorting center in Newark. Not sure what to make of that.
