Farewell, Rurik, we hardly knew ye...
Well, it's official - my character in Garrett's D&D game is not only merely dead, but truly and sincerely dead, with little hope of resurrection. Ah well, c'est la vie. I started drawing up a new character last night. I'm still partially undecided on what to draw up - do I replace one paladin for another, or do I draw up something completely different? I'll decide tonight.
I started going through New Wave Games' online catalog last night, looking for a good mini for a new character, and I found so many minis that I want to paint! Too bad I'm low on funds and already backed up on a number of Clan War minis I've been trying to finish for, oh, 2 years. :)
Lessee, what else... couldn't get any work done yesterday, so we ended up going out to lunch with Maggie, Seth, Kim, Jed, and Chuck, then went out to Old Navy since they were having a huge clearance sale. Got a new hat to replace the ones that Ein's destroyed (and got it for $.97, no less), and got Z a hat with bear ears! It's so cute! I want to get her some of the thong underwear they have at Hot Topic, too, but she doesn't want any - she says she's not sexy enough to wear those. Personally, I beg to differ - I think that she looks awesome in thongs, but that's just me. I may be a bit biased.
Anyway, Jed's car wouldn't start at the mall, so I ended up driving everyone back to Casa del Geek (after dropping Mags and Z off at home). I hope Jed's car is okay. Unfortunately, I didn't make it over to Casa later for the Forgotten Realms game that Chuck's running. Oh well, I'll swing by this weekend, at least. Too bad I'm going to miss out on the strategic L5R game next weekend. Blar.
Back in the office today, and it's been slow slow slow. I wonder how many people are staying home today because of having no power. It honestly wouldn't surprise me much. I've been trying not to websurf too much. So far, I've stayed more or less focused, with a couple of minor drifts onto the web. Doing a bit better though - I catch myself opening browsers and close them before I start wandering. I can do this; I just have to exercise my willpower. If I want to websurf, I can do it at home.
