One of the joys of having a larger harddrive is that I can now have more than 2 or 3 games installed at a time, so I can go ahead and reinstall some games that I've been meaning to play, but haven't been able to. Just reinstalled System Shock 2, and Freespace 2 is next on the list.

Of course, the downside is the aggravation such games sometimes cause. For example, in SS2 I was just killed by a monkey with cryokinesis. That's right - a monkey with psionic powers just froze me to death, after his worm-possessed human buddy beat on me with a pipe to soften me up. Very few things are quite as embarassing as being frozen to death by a lesser primate.

However, one game I won't be reinstalling is Neverwinter Nights. I gave it a try once I got the new video card, and I was quite disappointed by the single-player campaign. While I was pleased to see some basic puzzle-solving and traps (such as the pawn chessboard puzzle just past the prison), the rest of the game felt like a 3d sub-par Diablo clone, but restricted by D&D rules. I can't imagine how someone could solo with a low-level caster in that game, since you run out of spells so quickly and lack the support that a full party provides. Perhaps the multiplayer is worthwhile, but the single-player game just left me frustrated and wanting more.
