Chemical depression is utterly annyoing. Had a decent day at work, a good drive home, and went out for errands and dinner with Z and Maggie. Got to witness some beautiful sunset vistas, and everything was wonderful. Then we get home, and it's like someone flicked a switch - I get listless, tired, and just feeling down. I'm feeling a bit better now; a couple of hours of blowing the fuck out of random spacecraft in Starfighter seemed to help somewhat. Hopefully I can sleep on this and it'll be all gone tomorrow.
On an utterly unrelated note, my grandfather (on my mom's side) is losing two of his toes this weekend. He had an aneurysm in his lower leg a few weeks ago, cutting off the circulation to his foot and causing it to swell up and turn black. They fixed the problem, and his foot is getting back to normal. It's down to a lovely mauve color, I'm told. However, two of the toes were without blood for so long that the cells in them died and now they have to remove them to avoid gangrene. He's in pretty good spirits about it, and he's having it done out-patient, so he'll go home a bit lighter than when he went in that morning. He's still in a wheelchair from the leg surgery, but apparently he's getting around now.
Mom joked with him and told him that he should have the two dead toes buried with my grandmother (who passed away in April 2001) along with a message telling her that it's a down payment. :) I really do need to email him sometime and let him know how I'm doing. I suffer from too much out-of-sight/out-of-mind syndrome; really should do something about that.
Anyway, I'm getting tired. It's time for me to hit the proverbial hay.
