Creative Accounting 101

Okay, I think I've found the answer. Bill shifting. Let me explain.

Remember that I get paid on the 4th of January, right? Well, rent's not due until the 5th, and we just take that directly to the office. If I get paid on the 4th, then rent can come out of that paycheck. That way, I can distribute my bills more evenly around the next 3 or 4 paychecks instead of lumping them all in one or two. That way, the "extra paycheck" on the 18th gets more evenly distributed over these two months, all the bills still get paid more or less on time, and we don't end up running quite so tight. Could end up netting us as much as an extra $250 for these two weeks, at the expense of getting one big infusion later.

And there's still eBay payments I'm waiting on, and Z's got some commissions in the pipe, and another thing to auction, and Sally's is hiring next week (cross you fingers!), so we may just be okay yet!
