Weird. Eerie.
I was at work going through a list of people to match to another list of people for a client, cleaning up the first list so that my file reader can parse it properly, and I came across an entry that made me pause.
2 World Trade Center, 53rd floor.
Wow.
And I was hit by this mental image of this person's office. Her desk, her computer, her coffee mug, perhaps a picture or two of her kids and her husband. The view out over the city, or maybe over the Atlantic. The lighting, the carpet, the grain of her desk, the papers that she was going through... maybe she had a meeting that day.
And it's gone. That office, and everything in it, all gone.
Again, wow.
It's pretty awe-inspiring, especially to someone out in the middle of KC, about as far removed from the whole 9/11 thing as one could be.
So I really don't have much to say. Well, other than I hope that Sharon Doernberg, Assitant VP of Guy Carpenter Company, is okay, and that she's back with her kids and her husband from the picture that's no longer on her desk, and that maybe she's got a new desk somewhere in New York City where she can again look out over the city, or the ocean...
