Everything comes in threes.

Our roof needs to be replaced. It's not leaking - yet - but it's very worn and starting to fall apart. Fortunately, insurance is going to cover it, so the next step is to get a couple of estimates from roofers and get the work done before winter comes. Well, insurance will cover most of it; there's still the $900 deductible that we have to cover.

Our TV is slowly dying. It's a 30" tube HDTV, and the tube is going. The corners are starting to pull in on the image, the center is slowly getting more and more out of focus, and the edges/corners of the screen are starting to change color values. On a white screen, the left starts to go blue, and the right starts to go yellow. In some cases, such as speech balloons in Tales of Vesperia, the effect is so strong that you end up with some mild burn-in for several seconds. I think I've tracked down the HDTV I want to buy through Dell, but I still have to sell [livejournal.com profile] the_z on the idea. She wants to wait, partially because it's "not that bad yet" - and it's not; it's still watchable - but the nocker in me wants to fix/replace it, because the not-fixed status of it is starting to gnaw at me now.

Our washer shot craps on us on Sunday morning. The agitator no longer agitates, and with no spinning there is no draining. I've had to bail out the inside twice now. Fortunately, we can do laundry with our parents for the short-term, but eventually I need to get it either fixed or replaced. With any luck, I can just pop the back off of it and replace a belt. Otherwise, we're looking at anywhere from $300 to $1300 to replace it.
(The icon is ironic, because I don't want these things to be on fire.)

Either this Sat (Nov 15) or next Sat (Nov 22) I'm going to be hitting Nebraska Furnature Mart again. So if you do end up needing a washer you're more than welcome to join me as I go pick out mine.

And I hear you about the TV. I really want a new TV as well, mostly because about 50% of the time when I turn mine on I get audio only. So I have to keep on turning it off and on until I finally get picture. And then there's these two white wave/stripe parts of the screen that aren't there all the time, but do show up from time to time that are noticable.

But unfortunatly I'm like Z as well...it's not broken yet, so I'm holding off until I get all the other things taken care of. (Fridge, Washer, Dryer, Couch, Dining Room table)
