Oops.
Last night, I wanted to look at my Tau codex to review paint schemes and detail ideas. The book was nowhere to be found. Wasn't in the bag I took to Olathe last week, wasn't on my shelves, wasn't in any of the normal places - or even most of the abnormal places - where I leave books that I've been reading. I had to have been searching for it for over a half-hour. Maybe I left it at the store, in which case I need to drop a line to Anthony (the guy that invited me out) and have him ask around to see if anyone's found it.
Suddenly, I get an odd idea. "It's a really silly place to look," I think, "and there's no way it'll be there... but so far, it's not anywhere else." So I take the lid off of the covered trashcan in my office.
There, hiding in a stack of papers that got dumped, is my Tau codex. Almost lost forever because I got a bit overzealous and unattentive when cleaning. Thankfully, it has been rescued and returned to service.
