My poor yard needs to be mowed, and the planter box up front needs to be attacked with a weed trimmer something fierce, but it's just too damn hot out to do it. Why, when I have the time to mow, do the elements never seem to want to cooperate? I feel bad because it makes the house/property look less than great, but short of risking heat exhaustion, there's not much I can do about it. :(

Everyone's yards are looking horrible right about now. Think of it this way: if you were to cut the grass, you'd only kill your lawn. The shorter grass wouldn't have a chance in this heat, and then all your grass would be brown and you'd start having gaping cracks in your soil. You're saving your grass from certain doom. Just tell your neighbors that :D
