foxkit brought by his computer, which has been having problems with random reboots whenever he tries playing any games that use his 3D acceleration. Sadly, we were not able to fix the problem, but we did find the cause - the people that installed the video card for him put it right next to the sound card, which was standing flush with the vidcard's fan and blocking all airflow. From the look/sound of it, the fan itself may be shot, probably with the bearings ruined, and the video processor may have been damaged by overheating. :(
So, Zack, here's a list of equivalent video cards from NewEgg.com, who I've had nothing but good dealings with. All of the cards in stock are in the $100-$130 range, with ~$4 shipping/handling. Whoever charged you $200 last time ripped you off, I think, unless they charged for the installation (which, you saw, is damn easy).
