Our work is never over

Boss gave me a task to do that he didn't have time to do. One component of this, I'd never done before. He said he'd be free in 30 minutes to give me a hand.
That was 2 1/2 hours ago. He's been chatting it up with a client in the conference room since then.
My work is never done.
