...I'm enjoying WoW again. I'm sure that [profile] the_z will hate to hear it, but it's been fun going back, seeing everyone again, and seeing actual new content for once. It's been a bit of a shock, realizing that quest rewards in Outland outpace all the gear that I worked so hard to acquire (I've sold off the extra set of gear I was carrying around, since it was even more subpar by comparison). It's also odd looking at my quest log and thinking, "Well, all those old endgame 60 instance quests will never, ever get done." Didn't mind dropping the Silithus quests, though. :)

Going back to soloing Guild Wars after this will feel very strange. Not that I don't enjoy Guild Wars - I like the art direction, the gameplay is good, and I like the easily reconfigurable build/skillset system, and the lack of subscription fees is wonderful - but WoW is just... WoW. I think taking a year away from it was good, though, because banging my head against the pre-expansion casual ceiling and dealing with guild stress and growing pains was just driving me nuts. I was so big on WoW for so long, I think the disappointment near the end embittered me just a bit. I am happy to have let that go. I will say that Guild Wars is a bit of a lonely game for me, as I don't know anyone else who plays currently, whereas there's a group of people in WoW who were happy to see me again. *^_^*

I still don't know if I'll go back. I doubt it. I'll admit, though, that if someone got me the expansion and a game time card for Christmas, I wouldn't turn my nose up at it.

And it's nice to be called "bossman" again, even if I'm not. :)
