Busy day
This has been one of my most productive weekends ever.
- I finally broke down and started cleaning/reorganizing my office, something that it has needed badly since we had the carpet put in and it was used as a temporary storage room (only some of it wasn't as temporary as I might like). Now, I have floor space again for rolling around in my chair, all the books are on shelves instead of in carefully-structured stacks on the floor, and I can see the top of my desk again. I still have more work to do - there's a stereo system that I still need to get to
tim_almasy, and the box of personal effects I brought home from work (just in case) needs to be unpacked and sorted - but the difference is very pleasing. - I'm on laundry load 3 of 5. Not a major accomplishment, but it's one of those things that builds up and has to be dealt with.
- I've been doing touch-up on a project for work that a co-worker was developing before he was let go. Fortunately, he'd done the lion's share of the work; I just have to integrate it into the rest of the system that I've developed. It's going pretty quickly, and now I'm just putting the finishing touches on it.
- I want to get more work done on getting my Tau army painted. I'm planning on finishing up the layaway on my Megaforce soon, so I'd like to have a decent amount of the painting (at least the base painting) on the Battleforce I already have. Fortunately, it looks like I should have plenty of time to work on that this evening. In the meantime, I did my first bit of mini modification. You see, there's a little rule in Warhammer 40k that says that in order for a unit to use a piece of equipment, it has to be modeled with that equipment. Unfortunately, there are no model pieces for Targeting Arrays for Tau battlesuits. Fortunately, with a little searching, I found a way to model one with a spare Flamer, which I had. A little chopping and gluing later, and with an extra Tau antenna glued on for good measure, I went from this:
