360, 48 hours later

So, after playing with my 360 over the weekend (and pilfering through the demos), here's where I stand.

ACE COMBAT 6 (why the name is always in caps, I have no idea): Beautiful air combat sim. Not really my style of game based on the demo (sorry, [livejournal.com profile] reynardfox), but I can't fault it on the control or the graphics.

Beautiful Katamari: Another katamari game, and hopefully better than the PSP game. From what I hear, though, that wouldn't be hard.

Bioshock: OH DEAR GOD, YES. Next game on the list to buy. So beautiful, and so potentially terrifying. :)

Blue Dragon: Sadly, all I can muster for this is, "Meh." Very solid graphics, questionable voice acting, less-than-inspired combat system and gameplay, and horrible frame rates. If it's available for rent, I'll give it a try, but I'm not in any hurry now to get it.

Crackdown: The sandbox game that I don't yet own, but thanks to [livejournal.com profile] richman1, who is currently without a functioning 360, I can now learn the joys of the Agency. So wonderfully cathartic, and the power gained in just a couple of hours of gameplay is amazing.

Dead Rising: I knew this one would snag me the first time I saw it being played. Then I borrowed [livejournal.com profile] animarelic's 360 and played through the main story. Now to do it again on my own copy, so it can become my other sandbox love.

Eternal Sonata: I know that [livejournal.com profile] the_z has been really buzzed for this one lately. I have to say that I do like the gameplay, and the graphics are absolutely beautiful. Reminds me of a souped up Tales-style game, which is not a bad thing. Definitely a better prospect than Blue Dragon right now.

Gears of War: Another loan from [livejournal.com profile] richman1, even though I've beaten it on the standard difficulty. It's just too good to not play again.

Geometry Wars: Ooooh, pretty and inexpensive. I like.

That's all the gaming research I've gotten in so far. Between all the demos and the messing around with media sharing, I've really not had a chance to delve much further.
