(no subject)

Our kitchen drain is all frozen up,  as nothing's getting out that way (and it heads towards the exterior wall). The bathroom drains, however, look to be fine. Hot water in the kitchen was also frozen up, but a little work with a hair dryer, and that's thawed right out.

No telling when the kitchen drain will thaw, though. We can run hot water into the sink, but it'll just overflow if we keep that up. I don't think we expected it to get as cold as it did last night (into the negatives).

Now, the drain is draining... but there's apparently more cloggage below the sink and below the drain for the dishwasher... and now, while the sinks are empty, the water has equalized between the sink and the dishwasher. End result: water dripping out of the bottom of the dishwasher when we got home. Hopefully, this too shall pass.
