Aug. 4th, 2005 12:37 amCan't sleep. Brain's too active, mostly due to spending the last hour or so scrubbing the latest version of ZoneAlarm off of my computer. If you use it, don't upgrade to the latest version (6.0.631.003). It's extremely buggy, to the point where A) the firewall doesn't work, and B) attempting to uninstall it results in an incomplete uninstall, which then causes the remnants to lock your browser access to a predetermined page that gives removal instructions. After trying several attempts at a "clean" install/uninstall, I ended up having to boot into Safe Mode and delete the remnant files, which were otherwise protected by the phantom ZoneAlarm non-process process. For future recommendations, don't use ZoneAlarm. Use something like Kerio Personal Firewall instead.
Also, the other thing keeping me awake? Oh, my mom's having some nerve issues with numbness and muscle spasms. As I was trying to sleep, my hypochondriastic phobia of disease had me running through all sorts of possibilities, including my potential for contracting whatever was on my mind at the time. Nothing like contemplating neurological conditions to keep one awake at night.
So yeah, I can't sleep.
