Apr. 20th, 2005 11:50 amOnly problem with doing DDR early in the morning is that my body hasn't adjusted to having a burst of activity so soon after rising. I'm energetic for a couple of hours afterwards, but then I crash... within my first hour or so of work. Trying not to let my body drag my brain down, because I need my brain to keep working. I especially need it right now, because I have a lot on my plate, and the helpings are only going to get larger as this job progresses. Now that I'm Tech Director, I'm jumping into the lead on a couple of projects of which I have only tangental or base-level knowledge. It's a lot to grok in a short time, especially when I have 3 or 4 projects of my own.
I'm not complaining, really. I knew the job was going to be a challenge when I accepted it. It's just going to take some time to re-acclimate to the workload, and then work through it. Fortunately, a number of my jobs are nearing completion and/or are small, so hopefully I can squeeze everything into my schedule. I wonder if I need to start using the Palm my boss gave me a year or two ago. Either that, or a laptop. (Yeah, right. When they're free, or when our credit is sterling again.) Maintaining a (tight) schedule and prioritizing tasks -- these skills are going to be key to what I have to accomplish in this position.
Okay, typing this out is helping my brain refocus a bit. Back to the grind!
