Yesterday's gray skies seem to have given way to sunshine, which is good. I'm curious to see if the ground will be dry enough to try out the new lawnmower we bought this weekend. (Yes, I know own my very first self-purchased piece of lawn/garden equipment. How domestic is that?) If not, probably tomorrow, then. Needs to be soon, though, as the grass is starting to look a bit shaggy/overgrown. Meanwhile, Z's flower garden in the front is looking happy, although hopefully the late-night chilliness lately won't affect them. We need more warm days, and not so much of the 60-high/40-low weather we've been having.
Got dinner from Schlotsky's last night, and I can see why very few people eat there anymore, at least at the one in Lee's Summit. The food isn't bad, really, but neither is it particularly good. Our paninis were just bland and relatively flavorless. They were also $5.50 each, and for that much per sandwich, I don't think it's too much to ask for something that has more than just mouth texture to it. The honey lime chicken salad we shared as a side wasn't bad, but that's mostly because of the bit of Thai peanut sauce they drizzled on it. The honey lime dressing wasn't bad either, but as Z hates dressing on her salad (she prefers it as a dip), I didn't really get to mix it up with the greens and enjoy the whole tasty gestalt that it should have been. Either way, not planning on going there for a long while, as there are places to eat with better prices and tastier food.
Tonight, not sure what I'm doing besides prepping the mower. Might try to work on Mandarin (which I might also do at the office if work is slow today), and after that... which game to return to next? FFX-2? Disgaea? Vagrant Story?
