On Thursday, saw the doc, and verified what I thought might be the case: I have a case of asthmatic bronchitis, left over from my flu. These things generally linger for about 4-6 weeks, so I'm on the mend now. I've got an inhaler to help my bronchii recover a bit faster, too. My coughing fits are settling down, which is good.

Was up 'til 3 AM playing WoW on Friday night/Saturday morning. Crack laced with candy, I tell you, but I'm making sure to take breaks, work on other things, and and spend time with Z. Speaking of Z, she starts her new job today, which she's really looking forward to. 12-8 on Mondays, and 4-12 on Saturdays. It'll put a bit of a crimp in our reading group, and it pretty much puts hospitality work out for Sunday mornings (as we probably won't be able to sleep until 2 AM or so, and we'd have to be up before 6 AM to get to churhc on time). Still, a small price to pay for a dream job like that -- working in a comic book store! Can't thank [livejournal.com profile] kitsuandy enough for hiring her (and [livejournal.com profile] judge and [livejournal.com profile] yukimi for recommending her for the position).

Sunday was a gray, rainy day, and included the discovery that cool glass-lined airpot + hot cocoa == explosion. Fortunately, it was a contained explosion, but we still ended up with an airpot that was hemorraging hot cocoa. Won't do that again. 1st service crowd at church was pretty light, but the 2nd service crowd were downing cookies, water, and Sunny Delight like it was going out of style. We were barely able to keep up with demand.

Beyond that, not much this weekend. Wing Night tomorrow, though, so that's always good. ^_^

So I just got stuck in the elevator for about 20 minutes. Got in to take some mail down before the mail pickup at 4:30, get in, hit "1" to go down to the first floor, door closes... and after a couple of moments, I notice that the elevator isn't moving. Try the "Open Door" button; no dice. Try hitting "9" to go back to my floor (which I was still on); no dice.

Fortunately, there was an emergency phone, so after knocking on the door to see if anyone could hear me, I called the front desk and asked for help. Several minutes later, I was told that someone would be contacted. In the meantime, I called my parents and Z to let them know of my predicament. I'm so glad that the emergency phone worked and could get out of the building. It turned the elevator into a very spacious phonebooth, which was somehow more comforting.

Eventually, I was just killing time singing "99 Bottles of Beer" to myself (got down to 66 before I got bored), chatted with people on the other side of the door, and just generally bided (bode?) my time. Then, the elevator started moving (just after [livejournal.com profile] greenwings discovered that I was in the elevator), took me down to 8 (as I'd pressed all the floor buttons at this point), and I took the stairs back up.

Oh, the adventures I have on a Monday. :)
