Well, went ahead and told my parents about my, er, condition. I'm going to go ahead and take everyone's advice and make a doctor's appointment for next week. Mom and Dad didn't seem too worried; apparently, there's a history of cysts all through both branches of the family, so most likely, that's what I've got. The fact that it's small, hard, and on the surface, rather than a bit larger, softer, and deeper, is also a point in favor of cystitude.

So, I'm worrying less and less about it. That's a good thing.
