Fighting off the plague

The cold that's bounced around the office seems to have lightly smacked me in the sinuses, but I'm recovering. greenwings, on the other hand, looks like it dropped a 50-ton weight on his head. Hopefully, he'll stay home and rest this weekend.

That said, I seem to be on the rebound. My headache's faint, my sniffles aren't too bad, and my bodyaches are nearly non-existant. I don't feel as fatigued as I have over the last couple of days, and I'm able to focus on work a bit more (although still not quite as much as I'd like). Actually getting things done today, which is good.

Trying to figure out how to work the weekend. I still need to finish helping hidaman with his computer - his CD-RW and DVD drives don't want to be recognized, it seems. Need to finish Eternal Darkness as well, so that I can return that to animarelic and greenwings. Would like to do some church website work as well. Also have some other things that I'd just like to do, but won't cry if I can't get around to them. Got to fit corgi time and rest time in there somewhere.

Pretending that we don't have money...

My boss gave me my paycheck. It was for the normal bi-weekly amount. This is a problem.

See, I asked for a one-week advance on this paycheck two weeks ago, as we had a number of bills hitting around the first of the month (from the move and getting new utilities set up and such.) My boss was gracious enough to give it to me... but he forgot to take it out of this week's paycheck. He says it's his mistake and he'll take care of it on my next paycheck.

But the next paycheck is the one devoted to rent, which itself is larger than half of my paycheck.

So, I'm left with one recourse - pretend that half of my paycheck doesn't exist, and that I'm not actually getting it for two weeks. This should be interesting...
