Ow. Few things catch you by surprise and hurt quite like pulling a jaw muscle while yawning. Damn overactive involuntary actions.

Anyway, what's up? Well, less than 2 days before Z jumps on a plane and heads to the east coast for a week to hang with [livejournal.com profile] greenwings and crew at Otakon. I'll miss her while she's gone, although she's probably right -- I'll keep busy enough that I won't be pining away for her. The corgi, on the other hand... Ein's never been away from Z for more than a few hours before, and he sees her as Mommy, the Most Valuable Packmate. All he'll know is that she's gone, and that she's not back yet. He's sure to be a mix of angry and miserable. I'm worried for him because he's never been alone for an entire workday - 8-10 hours without human supervision. Well, he probably was at the kennel, but that's a kennel. That's not home.

I think things'll be fine, though.

The house situation seems to have been settled. As soon as she's back, Z'll re-apply for her old Barnes & Noble job, and that'll bring in the extra income we need. On top of that, she's trying to get a few friends to move out here, with one of them being our roommate for at least the foreseeable future. Between the extra income and sharing our expenses, we should be in a happy, happy place, even if we do have to give up some privacy to do it.

Running tight on money this week, as previously reported, but I should be fine. Bills are covered, food's covered, gas's covered, laundry's covered, and got plenty of entertainment. Biggest expense besides gas will be taking Ein to Petsmart for a bag of treat bones. I can even head out to A2Z this week and have Debbie hold comics for me until I can afford them, so I won't miss out on anything; I just have to wait for it.

What else? Trying to get my mind back in Warlord mode; been doing a lot of trading (I have 5 going out tomorrow - okay, that's one more expense, albeit a minor one) to fill holes in my collection, and it's time to build new decks. Need to start something up to get people playing; perhaps "Warlord Nights" at our apartment where people can pick random decks and play. Need to get Ben to sponsor me as a Bounty Hunter, and then get a demo going. Would be a good thing. Only problem is, there's no Warlord for sale at A2Z. Oh well.

That's it for now - oh, one last thing. Banzai, a new show on Fox on Sunday nights, is hilarious. Think of it as the ultimate bar-bet show - the show gives you a short odd proposition/situation, and you and your friends choose what you think will happen -- who will last longest, who will do a task first, how long can one person do X, etc. Once you've had time to place your bets (and apparently, you can play this online with a computer or wireless phone), they show you the results. Seems simple, sure, but you have to remember something - this show is Japanese in origin, with all the original Japanese footage. It's just redubbed (more like Iron Chef than like Most Extreme Elimination Challenge, aka Takeshi's Castle). The tasks/situations are just weird, too. Tonight's were:

- Which little girl is really a little boy?
- How long can this interviewer shake hands with Angelina Jolie?
- Which scientist can successfully go Squirrel Fishing first?
- Which man will let go of the elastic band (held in their teeth) first?
- Which car thief will successfully steal a car first?
- How long can this rabbi hold up two buckets, each filled with Jewish holy books?
- Which manhorse (two men in a horse costume) can hold onto a set of hanging gymnast rings the longest, using only the front half's arms?
- How long can this interviewer, who asks only one question and then stares silently, keep the attention of Gene Simmons (of Kiss fame)?
-
It was odd, it was funny, it was Japanese. It was awesome.
